Program Director: Carol Signore, MAT, MS, FAED
Carol Signore is Founder and Executive Director and of My Self Design. She is a Fellow of the Academy for Eating Disorders and holds clinical memberships in the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, the American Society For Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, the International Coaching Federation, and Tuscon Professional Coaches Alliance. She is a graduate of Seton Hill College (BA), The University of Pittsburgh (MAT), Chestnut Hill College (MS), and Philadelphia's Council For Relationships, formerly The Marriage Council of the University of Pennsylvania.
In addition to directing My Self Design, Carol practiced as a licensed marriage and family therapist in Pennsylvania from 1989-2010. She is dedicated to helping people maximize their potential and reach their personal goals. Seniors facing the many difficult adjustments of retirement are a special interest. Both her coaching work and her WLS aftercare program are practical, unique and fun. Signore's approach reflects her deep optimism about people and her pleasure in knowing her clients and sharing their journeys and goals.
Mrs. Signore developed My Self Design in 2001 after studying the many recent improvements in gastric bypass surgery, experiencing weight loss surgery herself, and discovering that very few patients receive any meaningful individual follow up to this major operation. After 18 years of helping people with food related problems Mrs. Signore knew that intensive personal coaching and support would be essential if severely overweight people wanted to maximize the positive potential of weight loss surgery. Most bariatric surgeons and their patients agree that all types of weight loss surgery are simply tools, not cures. Surgery represents an important first step in a life long process of change. Help is often needed at different junctures along the way. My Self Design can be a valuable partner on this journey.
